Hidden Halos –  Grateful Patient Family Program

At Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, leading-edge care and compassion go hand in hand.  Our patients often express their gratitude for this excellent care in a variety of ways – through their kind words, smiles, letters of thanks and financial contributions. It’s certainly a rewarding feeling for our highly-trained healthcare professionals to know they were there when patients and families needed them the most.

Perhaps it was a kind word or a smile that brought you or your family member comfort. It could have been a life-saving procedure or a visit from a volunteer during your hospital stay.  We thank you for choosing Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital for your care and invite you to send a heartfelt message to anyone who made your stay pleasant. With the Grateful Patient and Family Program you have an opportunity to recognize a specific person or a department with a written note (click here to share your story) or a tribute gift (click here to donate now).

Healing Garden -- "Garden of Hope"

Methodist  Jennie Edmundson Hospital is committed to pushing the envelope in health care. We're continually seeking out ways to serve our community better. Inspired by our dear friend and colleague, Jane Justice, the Healing Garden is an opportunity to do just that!  The "Garden of Hope" dedication ceremony was held in June of 2010 to showcase the garden and thank the donors and hospital staff that made it possible. Jane's parents - Clifford and Frances, and her brother - John, were on hand for this very special ceremony.

The Healing Garden provides a beautiful place where patients and their families can find beauty, comfort, solitude -- and hope for healing.  If you'd like to help build hope with the Healing Garden you can do so by making a donation or with the purchase of an engraved paver to be placed with the brick walkway.

We are very fortunate to have the Iowa Master Gardener's providing regular maintenance to the Healing Garden.  For more information on the Master Gardener Program at the ISU Extension Office, visit their website.

The Stahlnecker Trust Nursing Scholarship Endowment was established to honor the legacy of Joe, Hulda, Robert Joe and Betty's legacy. This endowment will benefit deserving individuals pursuing their nursing dream as they follow in the footsteps of both Betty and Hulda whose compassionate service touched many lives.

Create a Lasting Legacy

Leaving a legacy is about life and hope. With a little planning, you can provide for your heirs and leave your mark on future generations too as you provide for the quality of healthcare now.

Memorial Giving

Establishing a memorial for a loved one is a meaningful and lasting gift that will express the depth of your feelings and support Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital's mission of providing the highest quality healthcare with compassionate and personal care. Upon receipt of your donation, the Foundation will send a message acknowledging the memorial gift to the family member, friend, or other contact person that you designate.  Memorial gifts may be designated to a particular hospital fund such as the Cancer Center, Medi-Bus Patient Transportation or charitable patient care.

Tribute Giving

Our Tribute Giving Program allows you to recognize a special occasion in someone’s life such as a birthday, anniversary or retirement with a gift in their honor to Jennie Edmundson Hospital Foundation.  An acknowledgement is sent to the designee(s), sharing your thoughtful tribute to their accomplishment.

Establish an Endowment

This is a permanent way to ensure your contribution will last forever - Leave a Legacy.  An endowment at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital is a restricted fund that pays a percentage of interest every year to a specified center or program at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.  This is a way to leave a legacy that will grow every year and truly help generations to come.
